Eastern Promise : Longing for Longnor

Route : Barracks Lane - New Buxton Rd - Cat & Fiddle - Axe Edge - Travellers Rest - East to Longnor.           

Weather: A fine dry evening  

Pubs: The Crewe and Harpur Arms, Longnor, then Bridgewater Arms , Macclesfield           

Items of interest :

• Lot of road on this route but no complaints because the weather was cracking and the lanes were quiet 
• Good beer in the Crewe & Harpur Arms & good nosh but the servings would have made a starter feel big-headed. 
• Early return to  The Bridgewater in Macc to quaff some obscure bitter (J P Wells ?) and listen to more hilarious tales from Bally 
• New phrases added to the TNR phrasebook "He who lives by the Pork Sword, dies by ...." & "One up the ***, no harm done"
• Bally relates strange tales  of a bachelor's experience of Relate
